Sean Totsch returns to the Louisville City FC starting lineup as one of four changes from head coach Danny Cruz, who has the boys in purple prepared to host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Lynn Family Stadium.
The veteran center back Totsch missed Wednesday’s U.S. Open Cup loss to Minnesota United, snapping a streak of 21 consecutive starts in competitive matches. The ironman of the USL Championship as its all-time minutes leader, Totsch had played every minute of the season up until Wednesday night.
Among the other changes Josh Jones and Carlos Moguel Jr. will get their first regular season starts of the season.
A rookie center back from the University of Louisville, Jones replaces Arturo Ordóñez on the backline. Jones has played 103 minutes with one start this season across competitions, versus Richmond in the USL Jägermeister Cup last month, but he’s has seen just two minutes of action in two substitute appearances in league play.
Moguel will start for the first time this season, regardless of competition, in place of Evan Davila. The 21-year-old LouCity Academy product has played 63 minutes in four appearances, including four in regular season play. It will be his first start since October 19, 2024, at San Antonio FC.
The final change sees Jansen Wilson replace Phillip Goodrum as the center forward. The 23-year-old from Elizabethtown finished tied for second on the team with nine goals last year and has so far tallied once this season, off the bench against Detroit on March 29.
Elsewhere, Aiden McFadden slides over to the left wingback role, displacing Amadou Dia, after deputizing at center back midweek against Minnesota. He’ll start alongside Kyle Adams, the only field player to play every minute of the campaign thus far.
Manny Perez starts for the fifth-straight game at right wingback. Despite being nominally listed as a back, Perez was the furthest forward player in Wednesday’s game based on average position, per Opta analytics.
Taylor Davila retains his place in the midfield next to Moguel. He leads LouCity with 12 chances created in league play.
The wide forwards are unchanged from Wednesday with Ray Serrano on the left and Adrien Perez on the right.
On the bench, Niall McCabe is available for the first time since April 15, when he played 45 minutes off the bench against Loudoun United in the Open Cup. He’s made one regular season appearance this season, playing 17 minutes at Sacramento on April 5.
Saturday’s game is Pups at the Pitch Night at Lynn Family Stadium, raising awareness for the Kentucky Humane Society. Fans that bring their dogs to the game can pick up a complimentary bandana and check out activations including photo ops and the Woof n’ Waggin Dog Bakery Truck.
