LOUISVILLE (January 4, 2018) – Louisville City FC midfielder Jose Carranza received a call-up to join the U.S. Men’s Under-20 National Team camp on January 4-13 at Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood, Florida.
Carranza was a fixture in the U.S. Soccer residency program, where he has worked with both the U-17 and U-18 National Team sides since 2014. Most recently, the Virginia native was listed as one of 36 players selected for the first-ever U.S. Soccer Men’s YNT Summit Camp, which ran from January 2-11 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida earlier this year.
Under the direction of Hackworth at LouCity, the 19-year-old made six appearances, tallying one goal and one assist after joining the team in August. Carranza’s goal came in a 6-0 drubbing of the Richmond Kickers in late August, while he notched his assist on City’s fourth goal in a 4-0 rout of Ottawa Fury FC in late September.
