Louisville City FC forward Ray Serrano is the lone change for the club’s starting XI for Saturday’s 7:30 p.m. rivalry tilt against Indy Eleven at Lynn Family Stadium.
It will be the 23-year-old Serrano’s second start in the last six games. He started and played the first half of LouCity’s 3-1 win over the Las Vegas Lights two weeks ago. Prior to that, Serrano hadn’t started since a 0-0 home draw with New Mexico United.
His six league goals are tied with Jansen Wilson for second-most on the team. Including his four league assists, Serrano’s 10 goal contributions rank fourth on the squad.
Serrano replaces Evan Davila on the left wing, with Davila moving to the bench. That’s the only change head coach Danny Cruz has made from last week’s 1-0 win at Detroit City FC, as the club nears a second-consecutive Players’ Shield.
Damian Las, fresh off his seventh clean sheet of the USL Championship season, starts in goal for the 24th time this year. It will be the 56th league start for the 23-year-old, in his second-year with Louisville on loan from Major League Soccer’s Austin FC.
The back line remains unchanged, with Amadou Dia at left wingback, Aiden McFadden at right wingback, and the center back trio consisting of Kyle Adams, Josh Jones and Sean Totsch.
Taylor Davila and Kevon Lambert have solidified themselves as Cruz’s preferred pair in the midfield. They start together for the 12th time in 13 games.
Adrien Perez starts on the right wing opposite Serrano, while Sam Gleadle starts at center forward.
For Perez, this will be his second-straight start and third since returning from a two-month spell on the sideline due to injury.
This will be the third-straight start for the 29-year-old Gleadle. It’s the first time he’s started three-straight league games for LouCity, a club he joined last season.
On the bench, leading scorer Phillip Goodrum (12 goals) provides offensive punch, while LouCity Academy players Hayden Stamps and Brandon Dayes join longtime veterans Brian Ownby, Niall McCabe and Cameron Lancaster, blending youth and experience.
The game is Pink Night at Lynn Family Stadium, inhonor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For tickets and more information, visit LouCity.com/pink.
