USL Championship Playoffs Info
LouCity’s making its unprecedented 12th consecutive appearance in the USL Championship Playoffs, which feature the Top 8 clubs from the Eastern and Western conferences.
Thanks to an extra-time goal from Tola Showunmi, No. 4 seed LouCity advanced out of the conference quarterfinal round, defeating Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. No. 8 seed Miami delivered the playoffs’ biggest upset when defeating the No. 1 overall Tampa Bay Rowdies in a penalty kick shootout.
Should LouCity advance, home-field advantage will continue to be awarded to the better-seeded team on a round-by-round basis.
LouCity’s looking to add to a decorated playoffs history that includes consecutive league titles in 2017 and 2018, plus Eastern Conference crowns in 2019 and 2022. City also won the Players’ Shield — the Championship’s regular season title — in 2024 and 2025. The club added its first USL Cup to the trophy case earlier this season.
