2024: After signing his first professional contract in the offseason, Cano joined his hometown club – USL League One’s Lexington SC – on loan for the season.
Last season: After seeing time in LouCity preseason games, including an assist in a draw with Major League Soccer’s Sporting KC, Cano signed a USL Academy contract. The deal allows Cano to train with and play for LouCity’s first team while retaining his amateur status.
Before Louisville City FC: Cano, who has emerged as a top player in LouCity’s youth system, attended Lexington’s Paul Laurence Dunbar, where as a senior he scored 34 of 89 goals for the Bulldogs en route to winning the 2021 state championship.
