Louisville City will play at the University of Kentucky Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Bell Soccer Complex in Lexington, Ky. Saturday marks Louisville City’s final match of the preseason before launching into the 2020 USL Championship schedule next week in North Carolina.
PRESEASON SUCCESS
LouCity opened its preseason with tests vs. D.C. United and Nashville SC while training at IMG Academy in Florida. Then Louisville City traveled to Utah on Feb. 14 in preparation for the 2020 Wasatch Cup.
After beating the Colorado Springs Switchbacks and securing a point from a match vs. Union Omaha, Louisville City won the 2020 Wasatch Cup on Saturday with a win over the Real Monarchs.
LouCity returned to Louisville to train during the final two weeks before the USL Championship schedule begins on March 7. The club beat Forward Madison from USL League One 4-0 in a training match on Tuesday and will close out the preseason schedule with today’s match at Kentucky.
USL CHAMPIONSHIP:
Louisville City will open its USL Championship play on the road, facing North Carolina FC on March 7. The club will play its first four matches on the road before returning home to open Lynn Family Stadium on April 11.
NEXT HOME MATCH
Louisville City’s first U.S. Open Cup game will be April 7 at 7 p.m. at Lynn Family Stadium. Louisville City will host the winner of Nashville United and Cleveland SC (NPSL). LouCity will open its USL Championship slate on Saturday, April 11 vs. Birmingham Legion.
