Louisville City FC rallied Saturday night on the road for a 5-1, Kings’ Cup series victory over rival Saint Louis FC that featured some eye-popping numbers.
2 – A pair of second-year LouCity players, Kadeem Dacres and Magnus Rasmussen, are tied with three goals apiece all-time in the Kings’ Cup series with Saint Louis FC.
3– Rassmusen, who secured a brace against Saint Louis and was voted Man of the Match, has now totaled three goals in LouCity’s last two games. He also had the first goal in club history last year against Saint Louis.
4– LouCity pushed its current winning streak to four games, the longest this season and the second-longest in team history.
5 – Against FC Saint Louis, LouCity scored five goals for the first time this season. The club scored a franchise-best six in a 2015 game against the OKC Energy. Before Saturday, the club had scored four goals at most in a 2016 match.
6– Saturday marked the sixth meeting between Louisville City and Saint Louis FC. LouCity holds the series lead with a record of 3-1-2.
11– LouCity moved to 11-2-2 when playing away from Louisville Slugger Field this season, bettering last year’s mark of 10-2-2.
12 – In its six games against Saint Louis FC, LouCity has scored a total of 12 goals, most against any single USL opponent.
59 – Though 29 games, LouCity has by far eclipsed its 2015 point total of 48 racked up in 28 matches. Last year, the club also finished second in the USL’s Eastern Conference.
