In recent months, the LouCity Ladies, an officially recognized supporter group for Louisville City FC and Racing Louisville FC, have proven to be more than the average SG.
That's what found the group's charity coordinator (Kelly Dettlinger) and treasurer (Sandy Trayner) on WAVE Country with Dawn Gee this week for an interview you can watch above in full.
The LouCity Ladies, which select a charity to support monthly with their membership dues, worked on another recent collaboration with the USL Black Players Alliance, producing a scarf that on one side reads "Black Lives Matter" and the other "Say Their Names." It includes the names of Black Americans killed by police as issues of racial injustice came to the forefront this past year.
Proceeds from the scarves were split between the Louisville-based Center for Neighborhoods and Louisville Urban League.
“We want to make sure we’re reaching out and helping those in need here in our Louisville home," Trayner said. "The smaller charity the better, really. We do some research. We try to find those that are directly helping the community here and those that maybe don’t get state or federal funding.”

“We’re so welcoming," Dettlinger said. "We just want everyone to come and love soccer as much as we do and love the city.”
