The United Soccer League named four Louisville City FC players to its 2026 Prinx Tires USL Cup Team of the Tournament, while interim head coach Simon Bird earned Coached of the Tournament honors.
Louisville City FC won the tournament, claiming a 1-0 victory over Hartford Athletic in the Prinx Tires USL Cup Final on October 4.
Defender Aiden McFadden and forward Jansen Wilson made the full Team of the Tournament, while Kevon Lambert and Taylor Davila earned places on the bench.
McFadden scored the winning goal in the tournament final and earned MVP honors for the game. He started five games in the competition for LouCity, winning seven tackles and tallying 20 clearances.
Wilson finished as the tournament’s scoring leader, tallying five goals. He also led the tournament with 20 shots, putting 10 on target.
Davila tallied one assist in the tournament, delivering the ball on McFadden’s goal in the championship game. Overall, Davila created 13 chances in the USL Cup, tied for third most among players, and appeared in all seven of LouCity’s games, starting five. He led LouCity with 529 minutes.
Kevon Lambert played just three games in the tournament, missing time due to injury, but earned a place on the bench in part due to an exceptional performance in the final in which he totaled 17 clearances, second-most on record for LouCity in a USL-sanctioned game.
In leading LouCity to the title, Bird became the first LouCity coach to win a cup competition since John Hackworth, who was at the helm for LouCity’s playoff run to the USL Championship title in 2018. He joins James O’Connor, Hackworth and Danny Cruz as LouCity coaches to claim a major USL trophy.
LouCity, the 2026 Prinx Tires USL Cup champions, will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18, for a rivalry game with Indy Eleven.
The game will be Pink Night at Lynn Family Stadium — in partnership with UofL Health, raising breast cancer awareness and recognizing members of the community impacted by the disease.
