Louisville City FC defender Josh Jones underwent successful surgery this week to repair a persistent hamstring injury.
Jones, a 23-year-old from Hatfield, Pennsylvania, is in his second season as a professional after joining LouCity from the University of Louisville. He was an All-League First Team selection and finalist for USL Championship Defender of the Year as a rookie.
“It’s been a frustrating season trying to work my way back from a hamstring injury that has kept me out for a while,” Jones said. “Unfortunately, the time has come where undergoing an operation makes the most sense to ensure that I will be fully healthy and 100% for 2027. Thank you to all the fans and supporters who have checked up on me. I’m disappointed to not be able to finish out the year with the guys, but I’m ready to support in any way possible as we continue our pursuit of a title.”
LouCity continues its season at 8 p.m. Saturday, playing away to the first-place Tampa Bay Rowdies.
