Louisville City FC defender Sean Totsch will pass Kenardo Forbes for the USL Championship’s all-time appearances record Saturday in a start at Detroit City FC. Kickoff at Keyworth Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
Totsch and the retired Forbes entered the weekend tied atop the leaderboard with 295 USL Championship regular season appearances apiece. Once the whistle blows at Keyworth Stadium, the 34-year-old Totsch will set the new record. Of his soon-to-be 296 appearances, Totsch will have made 253 with Louisville City.
Along with Totsch at right center back, the back three sees Kyle Adams return Saturday from a personal absence to wear the captain’s armband. Between Totsch and Adams on the left, rookie Josh Jones remains in the lineup after scoring his first professional goal last week in a win over Las Vegas Lights FC.
Kevon Lambert and Taylor Davila start together in the midfield. The duo has paired in 10 of LouCity’s last 11 game.
Taylor’s younger brother, Evan Davila, starts on the left wing to mark his seventh start this season while Adrien Perez will play on the right. Perez has scored in back-to-back games, both off the bench. This is the second start of September for the pair, after each started at Rhode Island on Sept. 6.
At center forward, Sam Gleadle retains his place after also scoring last week. It will be the first time Gleadle makes consecutive league starts for Louisville City. He last started two straight USL Championship games in 2023 with Monterey Bay FC.
LouCity has plenty of experience on the bench. The available substitutes have combined for 19 goals and six assists this season.
The game will air locally on MyTV 58 and ESPN Louisville’s AM 680 and FM 105.7. WDRB+ will carry local streaming coverage, with the national feed on ESPN+.
