Louisville City FC is set for a European test Tuesday night and it will do so with a formidable starting lineup.
The boys in purple take on German giants Eintracht Frankfurt — a team set to compete this season in the UEFA Champions League — for an international friendly kicking off at 7:30 p.m. from Lynn Family Stadium.
Jake Morris will start at left wingback after scoring twice last weekend in LouCity’s 2-1, come-from-behind win at Lexington SC. The tallies were his first goals of the season and his first career brace.
Manny Perez will play opposite of Morris while LouCity Academy standout Brandon Dayes joins pros Kyle Adams and Sean Totsch on the defensive line.
Danny Faundez will play behind that group in goal. The 32-year-old also saw action off the bench in LouCity’s first international club friendly of the season, against CD Leganés of Spain. Faundez notably started in goal during Louisville’s 2022 playoff run that resulted in an appearance in the USL Championship Final.
In the midfield, LouCity Academy product Carlos Moguel Jr. will start alongside LouCity original Niall McCabe.
In the attack, Jansen Wilson and Evan Davila will occupy the flanks, with Phillip Goodrum returning to action after missing out on Saturday’s in-state rivalry tilt with a slight muscle strain.
The bench includes three players that currently play in the LouCity Academy: Hayden Stamps, Griffin Rose and Cooper Tyler. Isaac Cano, an academy graduate, joins them among the 15 available substitutes.
