With the goal of getting “an even amount of minutes for a lot of guys” following a multi-day break, Louisville City FC head coach Danny Cruz has selected a nearly full-strength starting lineup for Saturday’s international friendly with CD Leganés of Spain.
Notably, 21-year-old Issac Cano will make his first start of the year for Louisville City. The LouCity Academy product has seen action off the bench in four games this season across all competitions. He’ll play in the attack.
Captain Kyle Adams, rookie Josh Jones and LouCity Academy standout Brandon Dayes start together in the backline. Jake Morris will join them as a fullback.
Damian Las starts in goal for Louisville City yet again. The Austin FC-loanee has played every minute of the LouCity season thus far.
Taylor Davila and Carlos Moguel Jr. start in central midfield with Jansen Wilson joining them.
Cameron Lancaster and Ray Serrano round out the LouCity attack.
The substitutes include nine LouCity Academy players, six of whom could make their debuts on Saturday.
Sean Totsch is also available off the bench. The 33-year-old hasn’t seen action since June 25.
Brian Ownby could also log minutes for just the second time this season. He saw the field as a late sub April 26 in a USL Jägermeister Cup win over the Richmond Kickers, marking his first game in 14 months following a knee injury.
Tickets are available at LouCity.com/leganes. The game will air locally on MyTV 58. ESPN+ will stream the game with radio coverage airing on ESPN Louisville AM 680/FM 105.7.
