Louisville City FC head coach Danny Cruz made just one change to his starting lineup for his team’s 7:30 p.m. Friday game at North Carolina FC, swapping in Aiden McFadden for Amadou Dia at left wingback.
Aside from that, Cruz opted for consistency following LouCity’s 4-2 win last weekend over Birmingham Legion FC.
Phillip Goodrum leads the line, getting the start on his 28th birthday. His hat trick against Birmingham was the second of his career, and he became the sixth LouCity player to register a hat trick. Goodrum was rewarded for the performance with the USL Championship Player of the Week award.
Ray Serrano, who was supplanted by Goodrum as the team’s leading scorer after the hat trick, and Jansen Wilson will occupy the flanks.
Brothers Taylor and Evan Davila occupy the midfield. The elder Taylor last weekend became just the second USL Championship player to assist all three goals of a hat trick, a performance that was worthy of a USL Championship Team of the Week nod.
With Dia dropping to the bench, the back line is otherwise unchanged featuring Kyle Adams, Arturo Ordóñez and Sean Totsch.
Damian Las has yet to relinquish his place in goal, playing every minute of the season across all competitions.
On the bench, Kevon Lambert returns to selection after leaving the June 11 Rhode Island FC game needing stitches for a gash on his head.
