Louisville City FC head coach Danny Cruz has made two changes to the team he selected for Wednesday’s grudge match against Rhode Island FC — a 2-1 win — ahead of Saturday night’s 8 p.m. kickoff versus Birmingham Legion FC at Lynn Family Stadium.
After coming on in the eighth minute to replace an injured Kevon Lambert midweek, Evan Davila will start against Birmingham. Davila also started last Saturday’s win against the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Lambert is unavailable Saturday.
Meanwhile, Manny Perez will start at right wingback in place of Aiden McFadden, who scored the opening goal in Wednesday’s win. Perez had started six consecutive league games before injury pulled him from selection last Saturday. He played 32 minutes off the bench on Wednesday.
The rest of LouCity’s team is unchanged from Wednesday’s win.
Phillip Goodrum starts as the center forward. He played nearly an hour on Wednesday, registering one shot on target.
Having scored in back-to-back games, Ray Serrano starts on the wing. LouCity’s leading scorer this season, the 23-year-old has five league goals. In his eighth season as a professional — he debuted for Seattle Sounders 2 at age 15 — he’s never scored in three-straight contests.
Jansen Wilson starts opposite Serrano. He assisted Serrano’s game winner on Wednesday.
Taylor Davila starts alongside his younger brother, Evan, in the LouCity midfield. He was held without a shot on Wednesday for just the fourth league game this season.
Aside from Perez’s insertion on the right, the LouCity defensive line remains steady. Amadou Dia starts on the left with the three center backs unchanged: Kyle Adams, Arturo Ordóñez and Sean Totsch.
They’ll play in front of Damian Las, who has played every minute of the season so far for LouCity. He boasts the best save percentage in the league, with 26 saves on 33 shots (79%).
The bench includes Jake Morris, who was available for selection on Wednesday for the first time since May 7.
