Louisville City FC will roll out a familiar lineup Saturday when playing Loudoun United FC for a third time this season.
After a regular season and U.S. Open Cup victory over Loudoun, LouCity this time gets a shot at United in group stage play for the USL Jägermeister Cup. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. from Segra Field in Leesburg, Virginia.
There, coach Danny Cruz will make just one real change from the group that last weekend delivered arguably the most complete performance of the season, a 2-0 victory at Monterey Bay FC. Aiden McFadden steps in for Amadou Dia along the left wing.
Additionally, goalkeeper Damian Las returns in goal after being listed to the bench last week. He inherited the starting job shortly before kickoff when Danny Faundez went down with an injury during warmups.
In front of Las — whose five clean sheets are tied for the league lead — is LouCity’s regular back three of Kyle Adams, Arturo Ordóñez and Sean Totsch.
Manny Perez will man the right wing opposite of McFadden, flanking the midfield pairing of Taylor Davila and Kevon Lambert.
Up top Ray Serrano, Jansen Wilson and Adrien Perez will lead LouCity’s attack, from left to right.
Ryan Troutman is available as Las’ backup in place of Faundez. Notably, recently re-acquired forward Cameron Lancaster — who arrived days ago on loan from Lexington SC — did not make the trip due to a midweek illness.
This is the second of four group stage games for City in the Jägermeister Cup. The group stage runs through late July before the knockout rounds begin. Saturday’s game will not count toward the regular season USL Championship standings.
Coverage will air locally on MyTV 58 and ESPN Louisville’s AM 680/FM 105.7. Fans can stream via the free WDRB+ app or ESPN+.
