Louisville City FC forward Phillip Goodrum returns to the starting lineup to lead a strong selection from head coach Danny Cruz as the boys in purple host Major League Soccer’s Minnesota United FC on Wednesday in the Round of 32 of the 110th Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Lynn Family Stadium.
Goodrum scored off the bench last time out against Lexington SC. The long-distance strike was his first goal of 2025. Sam Gleadle, who made his first regular season start in Thursday’s Commonwealth Cup clash, is unavailable against Minnesota.
Ray Serrano, the team’s leading scorer with four goals across all competitions, starts to the left of Goodrum and Adrien Perez starts on the right. The game marks Perez’s first start since April 19 at Tampa Bay. Perez has MLS experience; he appeared in 41 league games from 2019 through 2022 for LAFC and D.C. United.
In the midfield, the Davila brothers will start together for the third-consecutive game. Taylor Davila is tied for the team lead with four goal contributions — two goals and two assists. The second-year professional Evan Davila starts for a career-high fourth time this season.
The second change in the lineup sees Aiden McFadden replace Sean Totsch on the backline, sliding over from left wingback where he started against Lexington SC last time out. Amadou Dia returns to the starting lineup on the left to replace McFadden. Manny Perez will start opposite Dia on the right flank. Totsch is unavailable for Wednesday’s game.
The USL Championship’s all-time minutes leader, Totsch has played every minute for LouCity this season in nine previous games across all competitions. The last time LouCity fielded a team without Totsch in the lineup was on August 24, 2024, at Hartford Athletic; a stretch of 21-consecutive starts in competitive matches. This will be just the third LouCity game Totsch has missed since 2023.
Kyle Adams and Arturo Ordóñez join McFadden in the back three. With Totsch’s absence, Adams is set to become the only LouCity field player to play every minute this season.
Damian Las starts for the 10th time this season in goal for LouCity. He’s kept three clean sheets across all competitions — already one-third of the way to his career-high of nine which he set last season.
On the bench, LouCity Academy product Isaac Cano makes a game day roster for the first time this season. Cano spent last season on loan with Lexington SC, scoring twice in 17 USL League One appearances.
