Just days after a midweek U.S. Open Cup win, head coach Danny Cruz made three lineup changes to his Louisville City FC side for Saturday’s 7:30 p.m. matchup with the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Two of LouCity’s alterations are in the forward positions. Phillip Goodrum returns to his usual striker role, replacing Sam Gleadle, who scored in his first start of the season on Tuesday. Out wide, Kentuckian Jansen Wilson rejoins the starting unit in favor of Ray Serrano in the left-sided forward position.
Cruz’s third and final change sees Manny Perez reclaim his spot at wingback in place of Amadou Dia. Perez slots in on the right flank, opposite Aiden McFadden on the left.
Adrien Perez, who recorded the opener in Tuesday’s Open Cup win, completes City’s front three. The 29-year-old will start opposite Wilson as the right-sided forward.
Taylor Davila and Kevon Lambert are slated to continue as Louisville’s midfield pairing. Lambert, a loanee from MLS club Real Salt Lake, made his first start for the club versus Loudoun United last time out. Saturday, though, will mark his first USL Championship start for LouCity.
Goalkeeper Damian Las keeps his place in net ahead of the regular defensive grouping of Sean Totsch, Arturo Ordóñez and captain Kyle Adams.
Ordóñez is lined up to make his 100th regular season league appearance, 36 of which have been for the boys in purple.
The club’s leading goal scorer, Serrano, headlines Louisville’s available list of substitutes.
Tampa Bay-LouCity will air live locally on WBKI/The CW and ESPN Louisville’s AM 680/FM 105.7. For streaming coverage, fans can download the free WDRB+ app to watch the local feed in Louisville or CBS Sports’ Golazo Network for national coverage.
