Phillip Goodrum will make his first league start for Louisville City FC on Saturday as the boys in purple kick off at 8:30 p.m. against FC Tulsa.
Goodrum completed a high-profile transfer last month from FC Tulsa to Louisville, giving first-place LouCity more firepower down the stretch of the USL Championship’s regular season.
The forward scored in his LouCity debut and also started in Tuesday’s international friendly victory over Cancún FC. Now he’ll take another step forward at ONEOK Field, where star City striker Wilson Harris is also available off the bench.
Coach Danny Cruz made two other changes Saturday, seeing goalkeeper Damian Las and Jansen Wilson return from excused personal absences in the club’s last league win September 6 over Loudoun United FC.
Las will play behind a returning defensive line of Kyle Adams, Arturo Ordóñez and Sean Totsch. Amadou Dia (left) and Aiden McFadden (right) will feature at wingback with midfield of Taylor Davila and Elijah Wynder.
Ray Serrano and Wilson complement Goodrum atop a 5-2-3 shape.
With a victory Saturday, LouCity would clinch home field advantage for its 2024 USL Championship Playoffs opener the weekend of November 1-3.
City vs. Loudoun is set to air locally on MyTV 58, WDRB+ and ESPN Louisville’s AM 680/FM 105.7. ESPN+ will carry national streaming coverage.
