Louisville City FC coach Danny Cruz elected for three lineup changes heading into Saturday’s game at Birmingham Legion FC.
Off a 5-2 loss last weekend to Rhode Island FC, Cruz is switching out both his wing backs — Jake Morris for Amadou Dia and Aiden McFadden for Jansen Wilson — while Jorge Gonzalez returns to LouCity’s forward group.
The adjustments were made as the boys in purple look to go 4-for-4 on the year in terms of responding to a loss with a win. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Protective Stadium in Alabama.
There, City appears poised to play in a 3-4-3 or 5-2-3 depending on how far up the wingers push with Wilson Harris and Ray Serrano joining Gonzalez up top.
Cruz’s midfield duo of Taylor Davila and Elijah Wynder remains, while Wes Charpie, Arturo Ordóñez and Sean Totsch make up the back line in front of goalkeeper Damian Las.
Notably, the boys in purple will be without their regular captain for a second straight week as defender Kyle Adams mends from a foot injury.
Saturday’s game will air locally on WBKI/The CW, and fans can listen in via ESPN Louisville’s AM 680/FM 105.7. ESPN+ will provide national streaming coverage.
