Louisville City FC will turn to a familiar face in must-win situations Tuesday when hosting Greenville Triumph for a Third Round Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup game.
Danny Faundez, who played between the post throughout LouCity’s 2022 run to the USL Championship Final, will make his first appearance of the year at 7 p.m. inside Lynn Family Stadium.
Faundez appears to be coach Danny Cruz’s Cup keeper of choice, and he’ll have most of the group that pushed LouCity to a 4-1 start in league play in front of him.
Cruz’s back three consists of Kyle Adams, Arturo Ordóñez and Sean Totsch with Amadou Dia (left) and Jansen Wilson (right) manning the wings in a 5-2-3 formation.
Niall McCabe and Elijah Wynder claim midfield roles as Ray Serrano, Wilson Harris and Adrien Perez, from left to right, make up the front three.
There’s one notable addition to the bench, too: Sam Gleadle returns from a minor injury to be available for selection.
LouCity-Greenville — a matchup where the winner advances to the Open Cup’s Round of 32 — will stream live at USOpenCup.com.
