Louisville City FC will look for an instant impact from newly acquired defender Kyle Adams.
The center back — who officially joined LouCity this week on a transfer from USL Championship rival San Diego Loyal — will start at 8 p.m. Saturday in his club debut at Lynn Family Stadium.
The 26-year-old from New Zealand represents one of five changes in coach Danny Cruz’s lineup ahead of an 8 p.m. kickoff against rival Indy Eleven as Oscar Jimenez, Elijah Wynder, Rasmus Thellufsen and Cameron Lancaster all rejoin the starting 11.
The boys in purple are seeking to snap a rare three-game league losing streak, potentially while trying a new shape. Whereas Cruz has mostly operated with a 4-3-3 in his City tenure, his latest team sheet reads as a 4-4-2.
From left to right in front of goalkeeper Oliver Semmle are Wes Charpie, Sean Totsch, Adams and Jimenez. The midfield line consists of Thellufsen, Dylan Mares, Tyler Gibson and Amadou Dia. Brian Ownby and Lancaster make up the top of the formation.
Notably, striker Wilson Harris — out since July 9 due to injury — is cleared to make his return Saturday and available off the bench. Dylan Mares missed out on the team sheet after being listed as questionable entering the weekend.
LouCity’s aiming to climb up from a sixth-place spot on the Eastern Conference table. Indy Eleven’s midweek victory at Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC boosted the club to eighth, back into a current playoff position.
The teams will play to the largest Lynn Family Stadium crowd of the season on a promotion-packed Fill the Fam night in Butchertown. Saturday’s game also airs locally on WBKI/The CW and ESPN Louisville’s 680/105.7. USL Championship games also stream via ESPN+.
