Louisville City FC’s youth program will look to follow up a successful inaugural USL Academy League campaign when the 2022 season begins this weekend.
On the heels of going 6-3-1 with a +20-goal differential, the younger boys in purple open a six-game league schedule away against Cleveland Force, kicking off at 11 a.m. Saturday.
LouCity’s schedule consists of five opponents from an East-Central Division that includes Cleveland, the Dayton Dutch Lions, Indy Eleven, Kings Hammer FC and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. Along with the six USL Academy League games, the group will also play a home friendly June 19 against Athletes in Action.
Coached by academy boys director Luke Spencer and assistant boys director Guillermo Sanchez, the side will consist of U-15 through U-19 academy players while also mixing in members of the club’s USL Championship roster.
