A Letter to Louisville City Supporters:
While we can’t be together physically for the planned opening of Lynn Family Stadium tonight, we can be together in spirit.
Let’s collectively pause and reflect for a moment on how far we’ve come as a club over these past 5+ years. We have filled a trophy case, built ourselves a new home, and formed a bond around LouCity that is truly Louisville Strong. The memories of these past seasons and the quality of people – from the owners to the front office, to our supporters, to the pitch – rival that of any organization.
We can’t deny that we were looking forward to celebrating with you in our new stadium tonight, but we will be back when this pandemic subsides and, with our roster, we will be challenging for our third USL Championship Trophy. We encourage you to take great pride in what we have accomplished together and know that we look forward to visiting with you as soon as we can realistically do so.
There is much for us to be thankful for as we await a return to normal. We also have a lot to look forward to; our emerging Youth Academy, our new NWSL Women’s team, the new training ground, youth facilities, and the return of our championship-winning men’s team.
If you are so inclined, sport your purple today so that your family can still feel a bit of that LouCity pride despite the current circumstances. We will be here for you and with you when this pandemic passes.
We appreciate you all!
John Neace, Brad Estes, John Hackworth, and James O’Connor
