Louisville City’s Niall McCabe was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week Tuesday for his performance in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Charleston Battery.
McCabe was an integral part of the LouCity’s early goal, as his pass into the box led to George Davis IV’s goal that changed the complexity of the match for Charleston. Now down a goal, they couldn’t sit back and force LouCity to come at them.
Now with Charleston opened up, Louisville City took advantage of chances, scoring four goals including an absolutely brilliant free kick by McCabe later in the match.
McCabe, Louisville City’s most veteran player, continues to be an integral part of the league’s leader’s lineup. He is second on the team in Chances Created with 22 and is sixth in Minutes Played with 11 starts.
McCabe and Louisville City will host Loudoun United Saturday at 7 p.m. at Slugger Field as Louisville City continues its homestand. The game will be broadcast locally on WBKI and streamed on ESPN+. The local radio broadcast will be on 840 WHAS with Kevin Kernen and John Horlander.
