The fans’ voices have been heard. After receiving 67 percent of the vote, Magnus Rasmussen has been awarded the Oxybaric Player of the Month for June. The other finalists were Napo Matsoso and Oscar Jimenez.
Magnus contributed two goals in league play as well as an assist in the U.S. Open Cup.
His first goal came at the beginning of the month at home against Charleston Battery, where he scored off a penalty kick to give LouCity a 2-0 lead. Magnus was named Man of the Match for his performance.
His next goal came a week later against Loudoun United. Magnus found the back of the net in the first minute of the game after Taylor Peay crossed the ball into the box, securing a 1-0 lead. He was awarded Man of the Match honors for the second time in as many games.
Magnus assisted Lucky Mkosana against FC Cincinnati in the U.S. Open Cup off a beautiful cross in the 30′ to put the teams even at one goal apiece.
Magnus and LouCity will be back at Slugger Field on Saturday to take on rival Nashville SC in the “Sour Mash Soccer Bash.”
The match will kickoff at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on WBKI and streamed on ESPN+. Kevin Kernen and Jeff Greer will have the radio call on 840 WHAS.
