Rewind against Red Bulls II
This is the first time in the 2018 regular season that LouCity and New York Red Bulls II will cross paths. However, having met in both the 2016 & 2017 Eastern Conference finals, City and Red Bulls II have a bit of history to rehash.
Kentucky Lottery Kees to the Game
As LouCity looks to bounce back from their first league defeat at home this year, here are a few KY Lottery Kees to the Game for #LOUvNY:
- It’s all about balance
- Keep it fluid
- Stay patient
James O’Connor’s pre-match quotes:
On not letting frustration boil over:
“It shows you how much the lads care. It’s really annoying when you do that because, for all of us, we want to win. We feel as if we had chances to win it and then equally, we’ve been caught really with a poor goal. I think it’s even ended up deflecting off [defender] Paco [Craig] and going in, which you get nights like that and you start to think, well, not our night.”
On if this is a tough time to keep a narrow focus:
“For me, I don’t think so. I don’t think anything is piling up and we’re in a great position. We’re in the Quarterfinal of the Open Cup and have a strong position in the league, so it’s all about mentality. You either approach life or you approach the game and your glass is either half-empty or half-full and I always make sure it’s in the right position and that you take things for what they are. We’ve had enough chances to win the game and, on another night, you do win the game. But equally, you need to make sure that doesn’t happen and the frustrating thing for us is, in the last few games, we’ve conceded late goals when we’ve had winning positions—2-1 up to 2-2–similar at home with 3-1 up to 3-3. So we’ve been caught a little bit and just need to be a little bit smarter collectively to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
