Louisville City FC’s players got their job done last Thursday, topping Orlando City B by a 3-1 score on the road. Now it’s up to supporters to do their part in voting the first goal of the winning effort for best in the United Soccer League.
Forward Cameron Lancaster’s 11th-minute strike is up for Goal of the Week along with four other scoring chances from around the USL. The league is collecting votes through 9 a.m. Thursday.
Lancaster’s goal was the fifth of his USL career. Back for a third season with the club, he has started the club’s first two games and quickly made an impact at Orlando City Stadium.
After Paolo DelPiccolo dispossessed an opponent in the midfield, he passed to George Davis IV, who found Lancaster. The striker quickly twisted toward goal and netted a shot from distance, registering the first goal of the season for LouCity — and potentially a USL Goal of the Week.
