A Louisville City FC supporter who regularly dresses as a king to games plans to reign over a Guinness World Record.
James Pizzolato lined up Sunday afternoon in the tailgating lost West of Slugger Field and successfully hugged 83 people in just a minute, eclipsing the previous record of 79.
Pizollato stood in place as a lengthy line of LouCity supporters rotated through, accepting a quick embrace that has become the signature of a supporters group called the Louisville Heretics.
In conjunction with the record-breaking attempt — Pizzolato will now send video of the feat to Guinness for confirmation — the Heretics sought to raise awareness Sunday local cancer-related charities.
An Indian man, Krishna Kumar, set the previous mark on March 5, 2016.
Pizzolato and company were on hand for LouCity’s first-round USL playoff game with the Richmond Kickers at Slugger Field.
