Louisville City FC will celebrate the culture of more than 26,000 of the town’s residents Sept. 10 when hosting its first Hispanic Heritage Night at Louisville Slugger Field.
The pregame el Jimador Fiesta Latina outside the stadium is set to feature traditional food and dancing, along with music, face painting and giveaways. During the game — it’s a 7:30 p.m. start against USL rival Richmond Kickers — much of the action will be announced in Spanish.

At the Fiesta Latina, held at the corner of Preston and Witherspoon streets from 5:30-7 p.m., free food tastings from Los Aztecas, Señor Iguanas and Mi Pueblo restaurants will be available. The mariachi dance group Mexico Lindo and salsa group The Ville Casineras are set to perform, with DJ Xavi and DJ Hakzel providing music.
Fans can play corn hole and foosball provided by Modelo Especial, an official LouCity partner. Also, el Jimador will offer drink specials at the Fiesta Latina and have a “mixologist” on site to concoct beverages. The Brown-Forman brand will give away items at the gate as well.
On the field, LouCity will have just three games left in its regular season when playing the Kickers. The club remains in the hunt for a USL title and bid to host an opening-round playoff game.
