LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Hello, friends! We’re back with another edition of Purple Press, and, we have to say … We’re pretty happy right now. I mean, how could we not after that 2-0 victory over Charleston on Saturday?
Our boys looked pretty solid out there, huh? Those goals by GD4 and Kyle Smith were …
Smith’s worldy wasn’t the only thing he’s given LouCity this year. In addition to that, leading the squad in minutes played, he’s given us some pretty terrific faces during games.
Why else are we happy, you ask?
Well, it kind of goes back to that not losing thing. We’re undefeated in 10 games in all competitions. Coach James O’Connor and his guys are feeling good right now. LouCity have racked up 19 goals through that stretch and have kept five straight USL shutouts. That’s the recipe for a successful team — a team that’s good enough to be ranked No. 1 in the USL Power Rankings.
That No. 1 team will go up against the NASL’s Indy Eleven in Indianapolis on Wednesday as part of the U.S. Open Cup. LouCity was able to beat Indy last season in the cup, so we’re hoping to do it again. Make sure to get your tickets because if it’s anything like season, you’ll want to be there. You might even see the boys dance like they did against Indy in 2015.
That’s about it for this edition of Purple Press.
