LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Because LouCity is currently on a bit of a break from games, Purple Press is back and better than ever!
Let’s talk purple, friends.
USL Power Rankings
The USL published its weekly power rankings on Tuesday, ranking Louisville City third in the league. Vancouver Whitecaps II were a spot ahead at No. 2, while a very familiar team was slotted at No. 1.
That team, you ask?
The Charlotte Independence. You may remember this.
LouCity currently sits at the top of the Eastern Conference table with a win in Charlotte to boot. One would think that’s good enough for numero uno.
O’ Canada
Although some American professional franchises don’t necessarily respect the nation across the northern border, we at Louisville City FC are quite fond of Canada. After all, it’s been quite good to us — especially of late.
LouCity goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh was named to the USL Team of the Week after two consecutive shutouts against Bethlehem Steel FC and Ranjitsingh’s hometown Toronto FC II. Ranjitsingh made several huge saves in both games and has shown his natural ability as a stopper. That’s a really nice man bun too.
Fellow Canadian Mark-Anthony Kaye is doing some big things of late, as well.
Kaye scored the header that gave LouCity a big win over Harrisburg City and played well against his old club, Toronto FC II. The TFC Academy product was then named to Canada’s U-23 side as they take on the A-squads of Guyana and Grenada. We wish MAK nothing but the best of luck as he reps the red and white.
