OFFICIAL MATCH NOTES
TORONTO, Canada — Louisville City FC looks to continue its five-game unbeaten streak on Wednesday when they take on Toronto FC II (7:30 p.m. | MATCH CENTER). The game will be LouCity’s third in just seven days. Here are a few things to watch for as LouCity heads over the border:
THREE THINGS TO WATCH
Dominant defense? Against Bethlehem Steel FC on Sunday, LouCity was able to keep a clean sheet, courtesy of some great defending from Kyle Smith, Sean Reynolds, Tarek Morad and Ben Newnam. Greg Ranjitsingh, who started in place of the suspended Scott Goodwin, stepped up big and made some crucial saves, earning Modelo Man of the Match honors. Look for coach James O’Connor’s side to build on the success his back four had on Sunday.
Return of the MAK: Two LouCity players, Greg Ranjitsingh and Mark-Anthony Kaye, hail from Toronto. However, only one of them played for Wednesday’s opponents. Kaye is a TFC academy product and signed for TFC II in 2015, appearing in 22 matches. Fans should expect Kaye to be ready for an emotional homecoming on Wednesday evening.
Keep an eye on 48: TFC II striker, Raheem Edwards, has been on fire for his club thus far in the 2016 campaign. Edwards has scored four out of Toronto’s seven goals for the season. In order for LouCity to keep its third clean sheet of the year, it’ll be important for the back four to keep a keen eye on Edwards
LouCity’s next home game is a showdown with regional-rival Saint Louis FC on May 14 (7:30 p.m. |TICKETS).
