LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville City FC will hope to add to its goal scoring tally when it hosts Orlando City B on Saturday night (7:30 p.m. | TICKETS). Despite seeing much of the ball last week against New York, LouCity was unable to find the back of the net.
Scoring will be no easy task for Saturday’s match, as OCB coach Anthony Pulis employs a tough defensive style. Here are a couple things to consider as LouCity searches for three points on Saturday.
Nothing Easy
Last week, Orlando faced the Charleston Battery and managed to squeak out a point in a scoreless draw despite playing a man down after OCB midfielder Tony Rocha was sent off. Charleston took 18 shots in the match, but couldn’t put any of them in the back of the net. This was due in large part to one man: goalkeeper Mark Ridgers.
Ridgers was a brick wall for Orlando against the Battery.
The OCB keeper made an impressive six saves last week, some of which were downright remarkable. If LouCity wants to score on Saturday, shots will need to be put exactly where it needs to be. Otherwise, there’s a decent chance it’s getting saved.
Attack, Attack, Attack
LouCity coach James O’Connor will look to put significant pressure on Orlando’s defensive style. We don’t know who exactly will see the field on Saturday night, but expect for attacking midfielders such as Mark-Anthony Kaye, Niall McCabe, Kadeem Dacres, George Davis IV, and Andrew Lubahn to play very aggressively on Saturday.
Strikers such as Chandler Hoffman and Cameron Lancaster will also certainly look to make their respective marks on the match. Look for both frontmen to make runs at goal throughout the 90 minutes in search of a goal against the stingy Orlando defense.
Kicking Off
Louisville City FC returns to action this Saturday with the season’s first home night game at Louisville Slugger Field, set for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff against new Eastern Conference foe Orlando City B (TICKETS). The el Jimador Tequila Pitch Party will get things started at 5:30 p.m.
