LOUISVILLE, Ky. — With the 2016 USL season looming less than 20 days away, Louisville City FC will kick off its second season with the Opening Whistle at Over the 9 (120 S 10th St.) on March 18 from 5-7 p.m. The Opening Whistle will be open to all LouCity supporters at the brand new first-floor restaurant at Over the 9 in the lead up to the April 2 home opener.
The second-floor portion of the Opening Whistle will be a social event exclusively for LouCity’s 2016 season ticket holders, seeing 75 randomly selected account holders win invitations to the historic unveiling of Louisville City’s 2016 jerseys side-by-side with LouCity’s ownership, players, coaches and sponsors.

The newly renovated Over the 9 event space will see the Opening Whistle serve as its grand opening, showing off a character-filled bar space featuring reclaimed wood and stocked with the entire line of Old 502 wines and at least six varieties of Falls City beers.
To be entered to win the exclusive Opening Whistle experience, 2016 season tickets must be purchased by March 15 at noon. The 75 randomly selected winners will receive an invitation to the Opening Whistle — with the option to bring one guest. The winners that do not RSVP to theOpening Whistle by noon on March 17 will see their slots vacated and current season ticket holders may gain entry to the event on a first-come, first-serve basis.

After a historic inaugural season, Louisville City will launch its 2016 Adidas home and away uniforms, along with an all-new third kit. Select items from the spring apparel catalog will also be revealed and available for pre-order purchase, along with all three jersey designs.
Over the 9, a member of the Falls City Beer family – representing Louisville’s oldest brew – and Old 502 Winery, is an upscale gastropub owned by Louisville City Board of Manager’s member John Neace. Chef Bob Durbin crafts a menu to serve the downstairs full-service restaurant.

Entering 2016, Louisville City FC has returned 13 players from the 2015 roster — including reigning USL Goal of the Season winner Aodhan Quinn and former English Premier League striker Cameron Lancaster. New additions include MLS Cup-winning forward Chandler Hoffman, University of Louisville alumnus Paolo DelPiccolo and University of Kentucky alumnus George Davis IV.
Louisville City FC begins regular season play on March 26 at Charlotte Independence. LouCity then returns to Louisville Slugger Field on April 2 to host New York Red Bulls II in the home opener, with a special 3 p.m. kickoff.
