LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville City FC continues to grow it’s outreach with youth soccer in the area. The 2015 Eastern Conference finalists will team up with Oldham Soccer Club as it’s second youth partner for 2016, the Club announced on Wednesday.
“We, at Oldham Soccer Club, are delighted to form a partnership with Louisville City FC,” Oldham Soccer Club director of coaching Simon Bird said. “What the LouCity organization has achieved over the past 12 months is remarkable, both on and off the field.”

Oldham Soccer Club has been in existence since 1996, with a competitive and recreational program offered. More than 1,000 players put on the OSC blue-and-white uniforms every year.
“An enormous amount of credit has to go to the ownership group and backroom staff for having a vision and working tirelessly toward that,” Bird said. “With the growth of soccer, and in that the expansion of the MLS and USL leagues, it is a very exciting time to be involved in the sport.”

With OSC, LouCity adds a partner that takes a great deal of pride in player development from an early age. It’s something Oldham Soccer Club says is at the forefront of it’s goals
“We feel that our vision for youth soccer and passion for the game at OSC is very much aligned to that of LouCity,” Bird said. “We look forward to supporting the organization moving forward.”
Entering the 2016 preseason this month, Louisville City FC has returned 13 players from the 2015 roster while adding new additions like MLS Cup-winning forward Chandler Hoffman, University of Louisville alumnus Paolo DelPiccolo and University of Kentucky alumnus George Davis IV.

Louisville City coach James O’Connor and his team will begin training with a two-week camp at the state-of-the-art IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., before returning to Louisville for a four-game preseason schedule.
Louisville City FC will begin regular season play on March 26 at Charlotte Independence. LouCity then returns to Louisville Slugger Field on April 2 to host New York Red Bulls II in the home opener, with a special 3 p.m. kickoff.
