With only 100 miles separating the two cities, much is to be played for. In the spirit of the rivalry, the Clubs will compete for an annual trophy to crown the winner of the season series.
But the trophy is currently without a name. A supporter-driven #NameTheCup campaign will launch on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at 11 a.m. with four tickets to one of the three head-to-head matchups going to the fan that tweets the winning name.
Here’s what you need to know:
Tweet what you think the name of the cup should be between Jan. 27-30 with using #NameTheCup and tag both Clubs’ Twitter handles (@LouCityFC and @FCCincinnati). Entries will open at 11 a.m. on Jan. 27 and close at 11 a.m. on Jan. 30.
Fans can vote for the top-5 entries at LouisvilleCityFC.com or www.FCCincinnati.comstarting at 2 p.m. on Jan. 31. The poll will close at 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 4.
The winning name will be announced at 1 p.m. on Feb. 5 and both Louisville City FC and FC Cincinnati will have a new trophy to aim to raise in 2016.
