Starting with a $5,000 donation from Louisville City FC Chairman John Neace, the club is aiming to raise $10,000 for the soccer programs at Kentucky’s Campbellsville University after a fire Wednesday resulted in a total loss of their facility, the H&W Sport Shop Ronnie Hord Fieldhouse.
Along with the monetary support from LouCity owners and supporters, the club plans to donate replica jerseys and shorts for Campbellsville’s men’s and women’s players to train in this spring.
Nobody was hurt in the fire which, according to the university, was discovered by men’s soccer coaches Adam Preston and Alex Adams inside the locker room storage and laundry area.
“We can’t wait until Campbellsville Tigers soccer is roaring again,” Neace said. “Please join me in support of rebuilding two of the state’s college soccer programs.”
