Louisville City FC has partnered with the Louisville Independent Business Alliance for the return of “Keep Louisville Weird Night” — a pro soccer game day you can’t find anywhere else.
Set for Saturday, August 29, this celebration of local business and uniquely Louisville lore will take place alongside LouCity’s 8 p.m. matchup against Detroit City FC at Lynn Family Stadium.
Fans can visit LouCity.com/weird for tickets or call (502) LOU-CITY, Option 2, to speak with a representative.
Louisville City players will debut a commemorative Keep Louisville Weird pregame warmup shirt designed by local artist John Embry. Styled after the drawings of Ralph Steadman, who collaborated with Louisville’s own Hunter S. Thompson, the tops feature a unique sketch of Lynn Family Stadium and the city skyline.
The shirts and an accompanying scarf are available now at LouSoccerStore.com and at the Lynn Family Stadium team store, open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Proceeds from each purchase benefit LIBA.
Gates open at 6:30 p.m. for Keep Louisville Weird Night. In addition to Lynn Family Stadium’s standard pregame happy hour — special pricing on beer, Pepsi products and Fireball — fans are encouraged to arrive early to check out the following “weird” activations:
• A buy-local vendor village featuring LIBA businesses in the Lynn Family Stadium beer garden
• Keychain can opener giveaway to the first 1,000 in the beer garden — an ode to Louisville’s hungriest bridge
• Other beer garden freebies: Oh Snap 502 photo booth and hair braiding by Cottage Core
• Vinyl set by renowned local DJ and record store owner Matt Anthony
• Donation-based haircuts from Anchorless Barber Co. benefiting Out Loud Louisville
• Louisville’s own Tattoo Charlie’s flash tattoo pop-up in Suite 17 near the Rabbit Hole Bar
• Home Skateshop and Sprak Indoor Skate Park present a mini-skatepark and skate demo
• In an homage to nearby NuLu’s Bock Fest, visit with — and pet — Sunny Acres Farm’s goats
• Slices of Big Nita’s Cheesecakes while they last on the south concourse behind the supporter end
With two months to go in the regular season, LouCity and Detroit will meet August 29 as they battle near the top of the USL Championship’s Eastern Conference standings. The two last clashed at Lynn Family Stadium in the 2025 playoffs — a Detroit upset of Louisville that the boys in purple will be looking to avenge on Keep Louisville Weird Night.
