Aiden McFadden will return from injury Saturday night, starting for Louisville City FC as the club hosts the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Lynn Family Stadium.
The 27-year-old has not played since March 14 due to injury. He has scored in each of his two league appearances this season.
McFadden’s inclusion is one of four changes made by LouCity interim head coach Simon Bird from last week’s 2-1 loss at Detroit City FC.
Mukwelle Akale will make his first USL Championship start for LouCity on Saturday after previously starting twice this season in cup competition. He’s tallied a goal and an assist this season.
Akale will start alongside Tola Showunmi in the front line, who starts for the eighth time this season. Showunmi is tied with Jansen Wilson with a team-high five goals this season, with one in league play.
Manny Perez rounds out the changes, starting at right wingback, opposite McFadden. His three assists this season are tied for second on the team, across all competitions.
The aforementioned Wilson joins Akale and Showunmi in the attacking line. The Elizabethtown, Ky., native has scored in three straight games in USL competition.
Taylor Davila and Zach Duncan start together in the midfield. The duo have made 12 league starts, with one goal and five assists, between them.
Kyle Adams, Sean Totsch and Carlos Moguel Jr. will be the center-back trio.
Danny Faundez remains in goal. Saturday will be the fourth consecutive start of the season for the 33-year-old.
On the bench, Sean Totsch is available for the first time since the April 14 U.S. Open Cup win over Austin FC, in which he scored. Also among the available substitutes are Ray Serrano, Chris Donovan and Evan Davila, who have all scored this season.
