Louisville City FC midfielder Kevon Lambert will join the Jamaica national team for its upcoming January camp and an international friendly.
The Jamaica camp will run from Jan. 13 through Jan. 20, and will include an international friendly against Grenada on Sunday, Jan. 18.
The camp comes in preparation for Jamaica’s upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 Play-Off Tournament, where the “Reggae Boyz” hope to clinch one of the final places in this summer’s 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Jamaica will face New Caledonia in the intercontinental playoff on March 26. The winner will advance to face DR Congo on March 31 with a place in the World Cup on the line. Both games will take place in Mexico.
For Lambert, this is his second call-up to the national team since he joined LouCity. He joined Jamaica for a pair of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September 2025. The 28-year-old has earned 28 caps for his country since making his debut in 2017.
If Jamaica qualifies for the World Cup, Lambert could become the first active Louisville City player to play in the prestigious competition.
After spending last season on loan with LouCity, Lambert recently signed a new two-year contract with the club. He made 19 starts last season, scoring three goals and adding two assists. Defensively, he led Louisville with 176 duels won, fourth-most in the USL Championship.
