Louisville City FC head coach Danny Cruz is riding the hot hand into his team’s rivalry clash with Lexington SC as Republic Bank presents the Commonwealth Cup. Cruz will start forward Sam Gleadle in a USL Championship regular season game for the first time this season as LouCity heads into an 8 p.m. Thursday kickoff at Lynn Family Stadium.
Gleadle has scored in three straight games across different competitions — the U.S. Open Cup, the USL Championship regular season and the USL Jägermeister Cup. This will mark his first regular season start since October 19, 2024, at San Antonio FC. Gleadle has played just 63 Championship minutes so far in 2025, with his lone regular season goal coming off the bench at Tampa Bay. He started both LouCity’s Open Cup win over Loudoun and USL Jägermeister Cup win over Richmond.
Behind Gleadle, Cruz has made two changes to the team that started in a 4-1 win over Richmond last weekend. Arturo Ordóñez returns to the backline after Cruz opted to rest him against the Kickers, replacing Josh Jones. Aidan McFadden also regains a starting role, replacing Amadou Dia after not featuring against Richmond last weekend.
The rest of the team is unchanged.
Damian Las makes his ninth start of the season across all competitions. The Austin FC loanee has conceded six goals this season, including four in league play. His save percentage of 77.8% puts him in the top-five of USL Championship goalkeepers.
Kyle Adams and Sean Totsch flank Ordóñez in LouCity’s back three. Adams and Totsch are LouCity’s only two field players to play every minute of the season so far across all competitions.
Fresh off scoring against Richmond, Manny Perez retains his place at right wingback, opposite McFadden. With two goals this year, Perez has scored multiple goals in a season for the first time in his career.
The Davila brothers pair once again in the Louisville midfield for the second-consecutive game and third overall. The elder Taylor Davila is coming off of a two-assist performance against Richmond that landed him on the USL Jägermeister Cup Team of the Round. Meanwhile, the younger Evan Davila starts in consecutive games for the first time in his career.
The front three remains unchanged from Saturday’s win. After bagging the winning goal against Richmond, his fourth goal of the campaign overall, Ray Serrano will start opposite Jansen Wilson on the wing. A native of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Wilson spent a portion of his college career at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. He starts for the third-straight game.
Against Richmond, Adrien Perez came off the bench to score LouCity’s fourth goal, and he headlines a group of seven potential substitutes.
