Louisville City FC head coach Danny Cruz made just one lineup change he welcomes back defender Arturo Ordóñez for Saturday’s 7:30 p.m. Eastern Conference Semifinal game against Rhode Island FC.
Ordóñez will slot in at center back for Wes Charpie, with this appearance at Lynn Family Stadium marking the reigning league Defender of the Year’s first minutes since October 19. Aside from Ordóñez’s reintroduction to the squad, it’s the same group that rallied to defeat North Carolina FC in last weekend’s conference quarterfinal round of the USL Championship Playoffs.
Ordóñez will partner on the back line with Kyle Adams and Sean Totsch in front of goalkeeper Damian Las. Amadou Dia and Aiden McFadden will flank that group as wingbacks on the left and right, respectively.
Taylor Davila – who tallied a goal and an assist last time out – will man the midfield with Elijah Wynder. Up top, Wilson Harris leads the way with Ray Serrano and Adrien Perez – who also registered a goal and assist against North Carolina – out wide.
Top-seeded LouCity is looking to advance to a 10th straight Eastern Conference Final appearance and face either the Charleston Battery or Tampa Bay Rowdies. The boys in purple will have to get through fifth-seeded Rhode Island, the only USL Championship opponent to beat them at home in 18 games this year.
LouCity-Rhode Island is set to air locally on My58 TV, WDRB+ and ESPN Louisville’s AM 680/FM 105.7. ESPN+ will carry national streaming coverage.
