Louisville City FC’s encouraging fans to wear black at this Saturday’s regular season finale against the Tampa Bay Rowdies — and players now have the jerseys to match.
LouCity’s team walked out last night against Hartford Athletic with a surprise, sporting a new solid-black third kit highlighted by a twist to City’s front jersey sponsorship. Logos feature a three-color gradient of blue, violet and magenta matching GE Appliances’ innovative and stylish GE Profile line. Kentuckiana Toyota Dealers, Fortna and the Butchertown neighborhood’s JBS also decorate the shirt.
The kits, along with a supporting collection of gear featuring a T-shirt, hat and scarf, are on sale now at shop.loucity.com and at the Lynn Family Stadium team store open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The team store will also open for special hours Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for fans to purchase new gear or customize their kits.
These will serve as LouCity’s home uniforms of choice the rest of the year, including the 2023 USL Championship Playoffs. City’s matchup against the Rowdies — set for a 7:30 p.m. Saturday kickoff at Lynn Family Stadium — will determine whether the club secures a top-four Eastern Conference finish and the right to host its postseason opener the following weekend.
Tickets are on sale now at LouCity.com/tickets or by calling (502) LOU-CITY during regular business hours.
LouCity will wear its new threads against an opponent that has made for some memorable nights at Lynn Family Stadium. Last time they played in Louisville, City defeated Tampa Bay in the 2022 Eastern Conference Final. The rival clubs have met in three straight conference finals in all, with last year’s victory serving as revenge following Rowdies wins in 2020 and 2021.
