Louisville City FC altered its lineup for Saturday’s 3 p.m. home opener against El Paso Locomotive FC — partially by choice, but also out of necessity.
Danny Cruz changed out Tyler Gibson for Carlos Moguel Jr. in the holding midfield and put reigning Golden Glove winner Kyle Morton is back between the posts after he missed last week’s win at Monterey Bay FC.
Ramzi Qawasmy also got the call in the absence of Josh Wynder, who’s away on international duty with the U.S. U-20 team. This marks a pro debut for Qawasmy, who signed during the offseason out of Providence University. Additionally, Elijah Wynder slots into the attacking midfield with Brian Ownby serving a one-game red card suspension.
Amadou Dia, Sean Totsch and Manny Perez join Qawasmy in defense.
Paolo DelPiccolo and Rasmus Thellufsen return in the midfield, with Enoch Mushagalusa and Cameron Lancaster among the front three.
Coming off a preseason injury, Jorge Gonzalez is available for the first time this year as a substitute. Also on the bench are recently signed LouCity Academy contract players Travis Smith and Colin Elder.
Wes Charpie, Wilson Harris, Dylan Mares and Ray Serrano were previously listed as out due to injury. Jordan Scarlett will also miss Saturday’s game after starting LouCity’s other two games this season.
Tickets remain available for LouCity-El Paso. The game will also air live locally on WBKI and ESPN Louisville’s 680/105.7 with streaming coverage via ESPN+.
