Louisville City FC will host its annual Pride Night celebration in conjunction with the club’s June 24 showdown against Las Vegas Lights FC, with kickoff at 8 p.m. inside Lynn Family Stadium.
LouCity and Racing Louisville FC have launched a “Love All XI” campaign signifying the concurrence of their 11 players on a soccer pitch and the 11 colors of the Progress Pride Flag.
First circulated in 2018, the Progress Pride Flag includes the traditional pride flag’s six-color rainbow design, plus adds black, brown, light blue and pink stripes in a chevron pattern pointing forward. White space on the left of the flag signifies the headway still to be made.
All proceeds from a line of team-branded Pride merchandise, available online and in Lynn Family Stadium’s Team Store, will go toward a pair of locally based organizations that will have a presence at Pride Night:
- Louisville Pride Foundation: The foundation seeks to promote unity between LGBTQ and straight allies by engaging in a conversation with the broader community about what makes us one while celebrating what makes us different.
- Louisville Youth Group: LYG creates a brave space for LGBTQIA+ Youth and Allies and is dedicated to providing youth with skills and experiences designed to help them thrive as community leaders now and in the future.
LouCity players will also get in on Pride Night recognitions by wearing special warmup jersey also available for retail. In addition, the first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a towel designed to match the top.
After the final whistle, head to Play Dance Bar, at 1101 E. Washington Street, for the official Pride Night after party. Show your game ticket to get in free!
