Highlights in Purple: DelPiccolo enters 2024 ranked first in appearances (230) and second in minutes played (15,397) for LouCity. A welcomed playoff force, DelPiccolo played every minute of the club’s 2017 campaign, earning the USL Championship Final’s MVP honors as LouCity won its first title. While boasting a team-leading 2,039 passing attempts in 2018, the midfielder was one of the “Triumvirate” of player-coaches appointed to assist in the coaching transition from James O’Connor to John Hackworth. In 2019, DelPiccolo delivered a 118th-minute header in the Eastern Conference Semifinal that pushed LouCity past the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and on to the club’s fifth straight conference final. DelPiccolo tallied a career-high nine goals in 2021.
Before Louisville City: DelPiccolo remains in the University of Louisville record books with his 23 assists the most for a Cardinals player. He was drafted 27th overall by the Montreal Impact in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. DelPiccolo’s pro career moved him from the Montreal to New England, Arizona and Charlotte before he signed with LouCity for the 2016 season.
