Louisville City FC has clinched its spot in the USL Championship playoffs, and the boys in purple will open their postseason at home.
A Round of 16 game will be played at Lynn Family Stadium the first weekend in November given LouCity — currently atop the Central Division — has clinched a first- or second-place finish. Host privileges for ensuing rounds go to the team with the higher regular-season point total.
Season ticket members have received emailed communication indicating they have until Oct. 22 to opt out of their seats for the playoffs. Those who opt out will not be guaranteed their seats for successive postseason rounds.
The first-round game date, time and opponent are to be determined. Single-game tickets will go on sale later.

Following opening weekend are the conference semifinals (Nov. 12-14) and conference finals (Nov. 19-21). They lead up to a Sunday, Nov. 28, USL Championship Final that will kick off at 8 p.m., airing on ESPN or ESPN 2 and ESPN Deportes.
LouCity, which has advanced to at least the Eastern Conference Final in each of its six seasons since beginning play, is also the only club to win back-to-back USL Championship titles in 2017 and 2018.
While the top-two Central Division finishers will host opening-round games, four teams in all will make the 16-team field, joining counterparts from the Atlantic, Mountain and Pacific divisions in the single-elimination tournament.
Division winners will be matched with the fourth-place team, while second-placed teams will meet third-placed teams from the opposing division in the Conference Quarterfinals.
Following the Conference Quarterfinals round, home advantage will be determined by total points earned, regardless of division rank, for the remainder of the postseason.
LouCity is a remarkable 16-4 in playoff games since the club launched in 2015, continuing to deliver each fall as the USL Championship has more than doubled in size.
The boys in purple have advanced to the Eastern Conference Final — the league's national semifinal round — each season. Along the way, they won three conference finals (2017, 2018, 2019) as well as back-to-back league championships (2017, 2018).
A club-record 14,456 were at Louisville Slugger Field in 2017 to see LouCity defeat the Swope Park Rangers by a 1-1 score. A sold-out Lynn Stadium at the University of Louisville hosted the 2018 final also won with a 1-0 score over Phoenix Rising FC.
