The USL Championship has named Louisville City FC forwards Ray Serrano and Quenzi Huerman to its team of the week, the league announced Tuesday.
Serrano, the 24-year-old forward in his fifth season with LouCity, scored twice in Saturday’s 3-2 win at Orange County SC. He has now scored six goals this season, including four in league play. The brace was Serrano’s first for Louisville City.
Huerman delivered a pair of assists in the win, one to Serrano on LouCity’s opening goal and another to Chris Donovan for the team’s third of the night. It was the first career two-assist performance for the third-year professional, who is in his first year with the club. The 25-year-old Frenchman has scored once this season — in the USL Cup — and has four assists, all in league play.
These are the 14th and 15th LouCity selections to the USL Championship Team of the Week this season. For Serrano, this is his second selection, after he was tabbed in Week Two.
LouCity returns to action Saturday at rival Indy Eleven. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at Michael A. Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis.
LouCity’s next home game is on Saturday, Aug. 29, versus Detroit City FC. The game will be Keep Louisville Weird Night, a celebration of what makes our community unique.
