When Louisville City FC returns home for a 7:30 p.m. Friday kickoff against Loudoun United, it’ll do so with two changes to its lineup from last weekend’s crazy 6-4 away win over North Carolina FC.
Goalkeeper Ryan Troutman and midfielder Dylan Mares will both make their first USL Championship starts of the year in relief of Damian Las and Jansen Wilson, who are out with excused personal absences.
There are two new names on the bench as well. LouCity Academy defender Brandon Dayes (St. Xavier High School) is available for selection along with goalkeeper Crew Hartlage (Louisville Collegiate School). Both signings were announced for depth in the lead up to Friday’s game.
There’s plenty of continuity aside from those tweaks to the team sheet as a familiar defensive line of Kyle Adams, Arturo Ordôñez and Sean Totsch plays in front of Troutman.
Wingbacks Aiden McFadden, right, and Amadou Dia, left, get starts out wide while Taylor Davila and Elijah Wynder continue to be coach Danny Cruz’s go-to choices in the midfield.
Wilson Harris leads the front three, flanked by Ray Serrano and Mares.
LouCity Academy defender Hayden Stamps is also on the bench. Thanks to a new league rule this season, two players under age 17 can dress for home games without taking the spot of a pro counterpart. Dayes also falls into this category.
With a win or draw Friday, LouCity will officially clinch a spot in the 2024 USL Championship Playoffs.
LouCity vs. Loudoun is set to air locally on MyTV 58 and 93.9 The Ville. ESPN+ will carry national streaming coverage.
